Basics of Brewing with CHEMEX®
Steps to brew the best possible coffee every time you try it.

Step 1 : Grinding

Grind the whole bean coffee you want to brew to medium coarse ground. It should give the texture of kosher salt on touch

 

Pro tip : Better if you use a burr grinder because it gives an even particle size throughout which will help achieve the much needed even extraction.

Step 3 : The scoop

Put the ground coffee on the filter now. The amount of coffee to be used depends entirely on the personal preference but CHEMEX® recommends one heaped tablespoon for one 5 oz cup.

 

*Ting – For all models, with the exception of pint size models, the “button” shows that carafe is half filled and the bottom of the wooden collar/ spout indicates it’s full. On the pint size brewers, the button is the full marker.
